Introduction | Director, Technical Program Management, Google
ELLEN LEE is a director technical program management at Google. She currently leads the program management organization (PMOrg) for Core, Google’s software infrastructure organization. Under her leadership, the PMOrg ensures Google’s infrastructure works for everyone everywhere and at scale. With over 18 years experience at Google, her career has largely centered around technical program management inside big infrastructure and data problems. Core to her career is building and leading teams, processes, and systems that focus on sound and resilient program management. She also led program management teams in the Maps organization, typing together disparate parts of the org and designing holistic processes and systems to help the organization execute well. She earned a BS in computer engineering from Case Western Reserve University. Outside of her core role at Google, Lee is a champion for equity in the workplace. Ellen believes that investing in the ‘next generation’ of talent is priority number one, and she has been an active mentor, Tech Advisor, and sponsor for Googlers. Lee is the executive sponsor and leads strategy for Core’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion Council. Lee is also the executive sponsor for Grow with Google’s first ever Project Management Certificate Program, which trains people in job-ready project management skills they can directly apply to jobs in a fast growing tech industry.
